COMMUNITY

    

  • Established Early voting location in IRMO at Midlands Technical College, Harbison campus (LEXINGTON CNTY)
  • Restored the Upper Pine Grove Cemetery in the Harbison Community, an historic African American site
  • Created the IRMO Events committee to organize community events to bring the Town out of the COVID-19 Pandemic
  • Created a committee to develop the IRMO Dog Park
  • Created a committee to develop the IRMO Community Garden 
  • Created a committee to develop the IRMO Skate Park 
  • Created the Great Irmo Chili Cook-Off to benefit local non-profit organization
  • Funded the IRMO Outreach committee, this organization assist elderly citizens with home maintenance needs
  • Began the Annual Fourth of July Town celebration tradition in the Community Park of Irmo
  • Established new Fall & Spring Art & Music Festivals

NEIGHBORHOOD ENGAGEMENT

    

  • Established a video surveillance network in IRMO Town limits to

              assist Police with crime prevention

  •  Initiated Yearly Street cleaning in program in the Town of IRMO
  •  Created the IRMO Youth Zone project in the Harbison Gardens and

                IRMO Village communities. This Youth Zone Project worked  with

  • At-risk children to give them after-school mentors and

              encouragement

  • Established the first successful Town Gun Buy Back program.  Over

              200 guns were purchased

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

  • Began Covid-19 testing and vaccines sites within IRMO Town Limits
  • Bought an additional 9.87 acres to expand the Community Park
  • Managed to negotiate Blue Granite Water system to hold the line on sewer rate increases within the Town Limits
  • Began Drive Inn movie experiences in the Town of IRMO during the Covid-19 Pandemic Lockdown

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION

  • Recognized by proclamation June 19th as Juneteenth Day an official holiday in the Town of IRMO
  • Renamed Gibbs Road to Dustin Johnson Drive in honor of the IRMO’s home town Master's Golf Champ

TOWN GOVERNMENT

  • Established the Annual Mayor’s State of the Town Address
  • Hired New Town Administrator and assistant Administrator 
  • Hired a new Communications Director to assist with disseminating Town Information electronically 
  • Applied and received over $400,000 in grants for parks and IRMO Police Department equipment
  • Awarded over $320,000.00 in grants to non-profits in IRMO to recover from the Covid-19 Pandemic
  • Removed outdated IRMO conceal weapons ban from the Town of IRMO Ordinances

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

  •  In 2022, the Town of IRMO successfully operated within an 8 million dollar budget which resulted in a 6 million dollar reserve.
  • Applied and received a $500,000 state of SC appropriation grant to build a new town hall
